"Every painting is a piece of soul." -- Yellow Wasabi
Goldfish robot in bamboo sea 2025
VR scene in Unity6
Goldfish robot in bamboo sea is an immersive audiovisual experience that questions the ecology of life and non-life in the society of digital technology, the last nostalgia before entering the metaverse. The audience will transform into a robot goldfish, carried by the music of the Chinese harp Guzheng and will swim in the sea of bamboo organized in a neural network. The projection of the sea of bamboo is interactive with the Guzheng, a symbiosis of cognition and oriental music.
Yellow Wasabi built the VR environment by reading classical Chinese drawing in AI depth recognition, organized in Acacia's floral formula, reponsed to Buddism philosophy of "a flower is a world, a leaf is a bodhi". She played Guzheng with an atypical sound treatment in MAX/Msp, distorting the timbral and rhythmic structure of the immersive sound continuum. The disturbing sound poetry of cognition is annoying, stimulating or melancholic. Each bamboo is a cellular automata, floating in a cognition sea and interacting with the goldfish. The audience will be immersed in a space where vision and hearing merge, and will feel the moment when the limits of the senses are redefined.
